By EPFO Portal:

  • Before you check your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) balance.
  • You Must be sure that your Universal Account Number (UAN) has been activated by the employer.
  • UAN  - which is a unique given to all the employee who are under the EPF scheme.
  • Each and every employee need to have only one UAN in life time through out their working life irrespective of the number of companies they change. 
  • The UAN number is alloted by EPFO (Employee Provident Fund Organization)Once the UAN number is activated, simply follow the below steps:
  1. Click on  https://epfindia.gov.in/site_en/
  2. Click on ‘Our Services’
  3. Click on “for employees”
  4. Now click on the option ‘Member passbook’ 
  5. The following Login page will appear. 
  6. Enter your UAN number
  7. Enter your PASSWORD
  8. Enter Captcha
  9. After it has been activated
  10. You can access your EPF account.

By Sending an SMS :

To know the EPF balance through SMS, need to follow conditions:

  • Need to check UAN number is activated with your KYC details such as bank account, Aadhaar or PAN.
  •  If you are unable to do this, you can take the help of your employer to do this.
  • Once the UAN number is integrated with your KYC details, simply follow the below steps:
Now you need to do as follows: 

  • Send an SMS to mobile number 7738299899 as " EPFOHO UAN ENG"
  • ENG is the first three characters of the preferred language
  • If you want to receive the message in Marathi, then type in " EPFOHO UAN MAR".
  •  Language facility is available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali.

By giving a Missed Call :

To know the EPF balance through Missed Call, need to follow conditions:

  • Need to check UAN number is activated with your KYC details such as bank account, Aadhaar or PAN.
  •  If you are unable to do this, you can take the help of your employer to do this.
  • Once the UAN number is integrated with your KYC details, simply follow the below steps:
  • Give a missed call to 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number.
  • Then you will receive SMS providing your PF details.

By using the EPFO AAP:

To check EPF balance through EPFO AAP,

  • UAN number must been activated by the employer.
  • Go to Google Play Store.
  • Download the “m-sewa app of EPFO”
  • After downloading the app
  • Click on ‘Member’ 
  • Then on ‘Balance/passbook’.
  • Enter your UAN 
  • Enter your registered mobile number.
  • The system will verify the mobile number with your UAN
  • If it gets verified
  • Now you can view your latest Employee Provident Fund balance
